WHAT ARE MACROS?
"Macros" is short for "macronutrients," which refers to the three categories of nutrients found in our food that you need in large quantities: protein, fat and carbohydrates. Because macros contribute calories, by tracking them, you will account for total calories as well--but from the mindset that not all calories are created equally. This is important because 300 calories from protein, for example, feels different and does different things for the body than 300 calories from carbohydrates. If you want to improve your health markers, change your body composition or strengthen your athletic performance, tracking macros is a great way to make sure you will!

WHY SHOULD I LEARN HOW TO TRACK MACROS?
Tracking macros puts you in the driver's seat of how you want to feel, look and perform. By controlling the protein, fat & carb content of your food you're giving your body gentle direction for how to function. By tracking macros and eating to your personal needs, you can effectively influence body weight, health & biofeedback markers, body composition and athletic performance. It also helps you recalibrate your understanding of how much food is appropriate for you through tracking macros because so many people don’t KNOW how much to eat.
